The following is a list of resources and organizations where you can obtain further information and in some cases, help and/or counseling in regard to sexual abuse. The information is accurate as of the time of publication, but resources change over time and this does not represent a complete list of all that may be available. Many churches offer resources that may not be publicly known. The inclusion of an organization on this list does not imply an endorsement, but merely a source that deals with the topic of abuse.
* A note about these organizations. Some are staffed by volunteers; all are staffed by humans. If we are in crisis, we hope that the person on the other end of the phone will be trained, compassionate and able to help us. Most of the time, this will be true, but we are all human and results may vary. If you do not find what you are looking for on the first call and need help, please do not give up. There are many organizations out there to assist, please keep trying until you find the right fit or answer. And if you do receive help, please consider giving back when you are able. Many of these organizations are short-staffed and under budget. Financial support, volunteering, even just calling or dropping a note to say that they helped will go a long way to encouraging those that staff these places.
